A Vroom-Vroom Kind Of Party

While planning Levi's birthday party, I really thought he'd like it...scratch that...I thought he'd love it. He's been to a few of them lately, and talks about nothing else. Ha! When the first two guests arrived, he screamed, "No, no, no, no!" and ran away. He did eventually calm down and spent the first part of the morning orbiting the party...observing...
This is also when Aunt Annie taught him the art of tree climbing. I'm pretty sure she was attempting to distract him from demolishing my flowers...
After some good outdoor time, Levi finally decided that a party wasn't too bad. Really, I think he just got hungry. On the menu: vegetarian chili (Levi's favorite), brown rice, raw veggies and curry dip, chips and salsa (also Levi's favorite), car shaped sugar cookies sprinkled with raw sugar, and spiced apple cider. The kitchen was smelling pretty good...A full belly makes everyone sweeter. He even warmed up to his guests...
He especially enjoyed sorting through the arrowheads that one of the little girls brought...
In the end, I think it was the cake that pretty much won him over. What little boy wouldn't go gaga over a trail of little metal cars?...A big "Thank You!" to Nanno for lending us her cake making skills.
Once he loosened up a bit, the birthday boy even decided to show his muscles...
Which is a little trick he picked up from his Baw-Baw when he was just a wee little thing.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Little Bear! I love you to the moon and beyond.

  1. Yikes! My earliest memories are of sliding under the table as everyone sang 'Happy Birthday' and being traumatised until everyone left. Hey! Is that why organising kid birthdays still terrifies the living daylights out of me?!?!?

    Happy birthday Levi. And Mum.
