Babywearing Outdoors

...

I'm sure it's possible to raise children without slings and wraps.  I just don't know how it's done.

By the way, Sophia is bundled up in a Moby wrap...snug as a bug in a rug. Out of the wrap style carriers that I own, this is my favorite for itty bitty babies.  It's got just the right amount of stretch.  If you can only buy one carrier, though, a stretchy wrap should not be it.  The stretch gets uncomfortable once the baby gets to be around 20 pounds.  And, no, I'm not getting paid to tell you my opinion...unfortunately.

I Wuv Her

Before Sophia was born I was scared of what Levi's reaction to her would be.  I expected jealousy and anger, but instead it's just been love, love, love.  I should have known.  He's sweetness and gentleness to his core.

...

Like his mama, he wants to hold her and kiss her all the time...

...

"Mama, I wuv her."

...

P.S. A sweet friend knit her oh so pretty hat.

Plum Tuckered Out

It's hard work being a big brother.

Now, Bear, if you wouldn't mind folding that laundry when you wake up...m'kay?

Sometimes It's Their Smiles That Save Them

...

...

...

There's nothing quite as maddening or adorable as a giant mess with a grinning munchkin in the center of it.

Embrace the mess.

Babywearing Daddy

I don't know if I can handle all the cuteness happening around here.

His Own Sling

Babywearing Munchkin

Levi took care of his baby all afternoon...except for handing her off to me to nurse.  But, finally he just had to have his own sling, so I made him one using the instructions in this book

P.S. The baby doll's name is "Brother Sister".  While I was pregnant we seem to have made a little too big a deal about the baby being a brother or a sister.  Levi has actually introduced Sophia as "my brother and my sister." :)

The Best Big Brother Ever

The Munchkins Meet

Their first meeting was a bit rocky.  Levi was less than enthusiastic.  In fact, he cried, but given a few snuggles and a little time, he was all happiness over his "Fia Mae."
"I wuv her."
"Look at dose toes!  Dey are sooooo cute!"
And, he's been full of joy over her arrival ever since.

...

The above photo is of our first outing to the park.  Levi was beyond thrilled to "get" to ride with his sister.  In a heartbreakingly sweet gesture, he placed his hand on her seat, "I gonna hold on to her."

My heart, y'all!  I think it might burst.

A Little Comfort

A cold has been making the rounds over here.  This afternoon it caught Sophia, and ever since she's been wrapped up snug...

...

Is this not the cutest, most pitiful sick face ever?  She has this sweet little noise to accompany it.  My heart melts and breaks all at once.

...

P.S.  When I pull out a wrap Levi now asks very excitedly, "Are you gonna wear her?!!"  Oh, the things that thrill an almost three year old.

A Girl!

...

I'm still wrapping my brain around the fact that I have a little girl.  I now have official permission to shop in the little girl's section and dream about doing girly stuff together.  I can't wait to introduce her to all of my favorite childhood books.
..........
By the way, Sophia is 2 weeks old today.  The two week mark is so nice.  We have breastfeeding down pat, and I'm feeling human.  What more can a mama ask for?

Napping Beauty

Nap time has a new look at our house....

Nap Time

I promise more photos and stories are coming.  We don't have a laptop, and sitting at the computer has been....well....ouch!  I can't wait to share more though.  Sophia's birth was so peaceful and wonderful.  Okay, and really ouchie, but still beautiful.

Thanks so much for all of your congratulations and prayers!!  I can't tell you how much they've meant to me.

P.S. I can't believe shes' here!!  I kind of want to pinch myself....and her.  The double chin and pudge just make me want to squeal.
