The Bread Makers

These two and their bread making!  This is actually the first time they've fired up the brick oven together in quite a while.  Levi was beside himself with excitement.  He's been asking to make bread for months now...and that's no exaggeration.  This kid has the memory of an elephant.

Baw-Baw has had loads of deadlines bearing down on him lately, so getting to spend the whole day with him yesterday was such a treat.  Levi really, really didn't want to leave.  In fact, he even told me he wanted to go night-night with Nanno....as in "You can leave now, mom, but I want to stay....forever!"

  2. How cool is that?!? My father in law is big into bread making, and that last picture... he stands the exact same way as your dad (I'm guessing it's your dad?) :) too funny. The inlaws are in Texas visiting my hubby's brother's family right now, so we're missing our weekly visits with them. Thanks for the reminder of grandparent sweetness! :)

  4. Oh YUM woodfired bread!! No wonder Levi wants to make it. And that is one of the coolest brick ovens I've seen. Did Baw Baw make that?

  5. Sounds like a special day. And that brick oven is amazing.

My son was so jealous when I told him that I lived with Gramma and Grampa when I was a kid (!)

  6. That brick oven is awesome! Do they use it often? It must be particularly nice in the summer...no need to heat up the house with the kitchen oven!

  11. That is so cool! I have to send this to my Mom. She makes many loaves of naturally leavened sourdough bread each week for the local market.

I bet that bread Levi helped make is super yummy!
