Monday was one of Stephan's rare days off. And, like any good family we went on an outing....to the thrift stores. One of the first things I spotted was this, and immediately my eyes went wide...
A Learning Tower for $10!!!
Stephan was thoroughly unimpressed. Being the very practical sort, he talked me out of it because we didn't really have room for it, etc., etc. We left sans tower, but I just couldn't get it off of my mind. Then, yesterday, I was standing in the kitchen, and I thought, "Oh, yes, we do! Our kitchen isn't that tiny." Lucky for me, my mother happened to be over painting with one of her friends. So, I borrowed her truck, drove two towns over, and prayed the entire way. (Side note: Yes, I pray for dumb stuff some times. Hopefully, God doesn't mind.) You probably know the end of this one already. I walked in, and to my delight the Learning Tower was still there and still $10!!!
Now I want to find one of these at a thrift shop (they attach to the tower)....
P.S. Levi is crazy about the Learning Tower. He calls it his "counter chair". I'm crazy about it because now Levi can quit dragging my rickety thrift store and dumpster chairs all over the place.
P.P.S. Please, excuse my really ugly kitchen. Unfortunately, it's last on the remodeling list.
P.P.P.S. Oh, and honey, when I said sometimes husbands should stay in the car I wasn't entirely serious. I really do love thrifting with you. :) It's just that if I get that goofy, wide eyed, I've found a steal look on my face you should probably just go with it. Mkay?
We have a yellow counter like that except that it has sparkly gold marbling which used to match the sparkle tiles in the bathroom!
ReplyDeleteI like the 70's kitchen look ( :
ReplyDeleteMy house was built in 1905 so you can imagine my little tiny kitchen. Cute but tiny.
I love when I find stuff and thrift stores. Love it!!!
That is so cool, I had never heard of a learning tower!
LOVE the tower!! AND for $10!!!! Those are answered prayers that it was still there. That's so great!!
ReplyDeleteI'm still recovering from the dizzy wallpaper. ;)
I cannot believe that you found that for 10 bucks!! I've seen it online before and wanted it.... but not for the price. So happy you scored it :)
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is so sparkly clean! How do you have the energy being preggers and running after a toddler? I feel good if I am able to get the dishes done... lol
What an incredible deal!!
ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome thrift store find. I have a feeling that you'll use this is much that those will be ten of the most well spent dollars ever.
ReplyDeleteI'm drooling over the tower... I would LOVE to get one for the kids, especially at $10!! I've been trying to find good step stools, but it's not the same...
ReplyDeleteA learning tower for $10!?! That is the find of the century! We have a learning tower too and we use it every day! My girls love helping me cook and clean in the kitchen. :)

ReplyDeleteScreeeeeeeeeeeeeech of brakes. What? I have never before seen a Learning Tower. I feel like I need to freeze frame before all my kids are way too old for an obviously EXCELLENT find!
ReplyDeleteOh man! What a find! You'll get so much use out of it (and won't have to watch the kids to make sure they don't fall off the back of the chair - like at my house).
ReplyDeleteThese are great...and $10! wow. That would save a lot of off balance wobbles on the chair at our kitchen bench!
ReplyDeleteWow! That is definitely a GREAT find!!! Does your hubby even know how much they really are? Seriously, the hubbies do need to stay home at times. I know mine would have reacted the same way.
ReplyDeletebtw- first time visiting (via Marcela. Nice blog! =)
I never heard of learning towers but what a truly clever idea!
