Moving

#widn tagged by @linniejoy getting this house ready to move into. :-)

Stephan has spent every spare moment of the last couple of months fixing up the little house next door to my parents...the one that Levi and I lived in before Stephan and I got married.  It needed a fence, new floors in two rooms, fresh paint in three, and trim in all of the rooms. Now it needs a good scrub down, and it will be ready!
The plan is to move there, so Stephan can finish fixing up our current house (without kiddos underfoot). Once that is squared away, we'll start working on building our own house...with our own hands. And, by "our hands" I, of course, mean Stephan's hands. Levi is certain that he will play a very big role in this whole house building thing as well. The kid has big plans for wielding a hammer and saw.
Not too surprisingly, moving has me super stressed and occasionally panicked. I'm trying to keep in mind that this is all good and exciting....even though it doesn't feel like it right this minute.

Deep breaths.

One box at a time.

I can do this.

  3. Yes you can do this! Even if it means accidentally packing all your knitting into one big box that can't be opened until your done ;-). If you do that, I'll have to pack mine up too...and I don't think I can.

    1. Ha! Then how would I procrastinate? Kidding. Kidding. I have actually been fairly good at not running to my knitting every time I get stressed out...okay, okay. It's only because my husband has been around to keep me focused. Lord help us when he goes back to work, and it's just me and the kids left to pack up!

  4. Moving and remodeling and building? Couldn't you have added a fourth most stressful life event to the mix? Deep breathes indeed, my dear. And lots of perspective. And lots of giving yourself breaks on the little things (like trying to be a perfect housekeeper, and other such ridiculousness).

    1. Well, we already had a baby not too long ago, so I likely won't add that majorly stressful (but beautiful!) life event in again any time soon. And, housekeeper of the year will never in a million years be my title...unless, of course it begins with "worst". However, we'll probably manage to think of something else totally nutso bananas to add to the list. We like to stay on our toes around here!

  5. Yikes....quite a load there!!!! Sounds exciting and scary all at once...you will do great just remember to breath, rest and drink LOTS of hot tea. My new thing is instead of freaking out...put on a pot of tea haha.

    1. Yes to the tea! Big giant pots of it. In moving I actually found one of my favorite, old, enamel tea pots that I thought I'd lost! Can't wait to use it.

  6. You can do it! ( and you will!) we just moved on the 20th of December, after 3.5 weeks at the in-law's place. So I know how overwhelming it is- especially with little ones in tow! Take care xo
