A Vroom-Vroom Kind Of Party

While planning Levi's birthday party, I really thought he'd like it...scratch that...I thought he'd love it. He's been to a few of them lately, and talks about nothing else. Ha! When the first two guests arrived, he screamed, "No, no, no, no!" and ran away. He did eventually calm down and spent the first part of the morning orbiting the party...observing...
This is also when Aunt Annie taught him the art of tree climbing. I'm pretty sure she was attempting to distract him from demolishing my flowers...
After some good outdoor time, Levi finally decided that a party wasn't too bad. Really, I think he just got hungry. On the menu: vegetarian chili (Levi's favorite), brown rice, raw veggies and curry dip, chips and salsa (also Levi's favorite), car shaped sugar cookies sprinkled with raw sugar, and spiced apple cider. The kitchen was smelling pretty good...A full belly makes everyone sweeter. He even warmed up to his guests...
He especially enjoyed sorting through the arrowheads that one of the little girls brought...
In the end, I think it was the cake that pretty much won him over. What little boy wouldn't go gaga over a trail of little metal cars?...A big "Thank You!" to Nanno for lending us her cake making skills.
Once he loosened up a bit, the birthday boy even decided to show his muscles...
Which is a little trick he picked up from his Baw-Baw when he was just a wee little thing.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Little Bear! I love you to the moon and beyond.

Did I Say We Were Going To Take Family Photos?

Hmmm...so those post-nap time family photos. Yeah...well, that was interesting. First, Levi had to ride his trike...
Then he ran around like a crazy person...generally not in the direction of the camera...
And he ducked a lot...
And, he ran some more...
And, then I ended up alone...and kind of blurry...
In the end we just called it a day and headed out for yet another birthday celebration...sushi (or as Levi says "SOOOOOOO-shi")....and, of course, since he was the birthday boy, a giganto dessert plate was involved...
And, not pictured were my two most wonderfulest friends who met us for dinner. Today was good.
Stay tuned. More photos coming tomorrow. :)

The Big 2 And The Crazy Aunt Annie

Today is party day....as in party all day long. 213 photos later plus lots of yummy food equals nap time for the little fella. I haven't managed to sift through all of the photos yet, but I wanted to go ahead and share Aunt Annie's birthday present...Oh, yes, she did...the crazy aunt taught the two year old how to climb a tree. Really, Aunt Annie, he doesn't need help in the mischief department....I promise. She looks all angelic with that sunshine halo, but really she's mischief to the bone. And, Levi totally takes after her. It's kind of wonderful. And, no, Levi didn't make it quite that high up the tree. Annie's climbing solo in that one...just to show him how it's done.

I promise there are actual party pictures to come. Although it might take awhile for me to sift through all of them. That 213 is going to pale in comparison to what's coming this afternoon and evening. We have plans for Fall photo taking after nap time, and then off for a family celebration this evening. Hope my camera holds out. Oooo...that reminds me...I should charge the battery....

Hope y'all are having a fantastic weekend!!
